Mary Dahms Buse, 98 of Marysville, Wash. died peacefully January 9, 2016. Born on Whidbey Island on May 8, 1917, to George and Christine Dahms and baptized into God's family June 17, 1917. She married Frederic Buse on July 19, 1941. She was preceded in death by her husband and her brother, Walter Dahms. Mary leaves children: Bob (Joan) Buse, Jim (Bonnie) Buse, Dwayne (Lucie) Buse, daughter Marilyn (Dan) Buse Felten; grandchildren, Mark, Julie, Ben, Pam, Matthew, Minta, Serena, Laura, Marissa, Cory and Anna; great-grandchildren, Chris, Lauren, Sierra, Isaac, Katie, Madeline, Claire, Caleb and Jacob. Mary moved to Everett at age 12, graduated from Everett High School and was employed there until her marriage. She and Fred owned Smith Street Mill, Everett, a family run business from 1955-2013, working as office manager until retiring at age 96. Being there with her family was what she enjoyed. A faithful and active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, serving the Lord as third president of the Fidelia Guild, leadership roles in children's ministries and providing rides to those who would not otherwise have been able to attend. She served as treasurer at Messiah Lutheran Church and was a willing servant to the least of these. For the last sixteen years grandson, Mark has lived with her and lovingly cared for her with support of other caring family. Her faith in Jesus let her die in the confidence of her home in heaven and we rejoice in her life now lived with her Savior! A memorial service will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2521 Lombard, Everett, WA, at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 17, 2016. A time of fellowship will follow. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Benevolence Fund.
