*Shirley Nelsen our beloved wife, Mother, Grandma, Great-Grandma, Sister, Aunt and friend went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Oct. 26, 2010. She was surrounded by family and friends in her final days and her husband Ken was at her side as took her last breath here on earth.
*The oldest daughter of Zina and Alice Ramsdell, Shirley was born Sept. 1, 1935 in Norma, North Dakota. She married the love of her life Kenneth L. Nelsen on Oct. 25, 1954 and became the mother of five beautiful children. Shirley lovingly devoted herself to her husband and family for 56 years and 1 day until her passing. Everything in Shirley's life centered around her love and loyalty to family and friends. She loved being with her family and hosting big Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners and get togethers, Easter egg hunts for her grandkids and birthdays. Shirley and Ken always had their doors open with a welcoming kitchen table to gather around and a pot of hot coffee for all who came by. They also opened their doors and cared for 19 Foster children over the years. Shirley will always be remembered for her hospitality and generosity to all. She was loved by all who knew her.
*Shirley is survived and will be deeply missed by her husband Ken, as well as her children Kelly (Kathie), Pete (Debra), Paula Fish (Nels), Lowell (Marleen) along with her six grand children Ginger, Kelsey, Heather, Daniel, Beth and Nicholas and her two great grand children Parker and Sydney.
*Shirley is also survived by her three siblings Jake Ramsdell, Pat Ramsdell (Marie) and Jan Otten (Bill) along with many Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
*She is preceded in death by her Mother and Father, her youngest son Donald Nelsen, and 6 of her brothers Ken, Gerald, Deral, Larry, Denny, Rodney and younger sister Janice.
*A Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday Nov. 6, 2010 at 1:00 Hope Foursquare Church 5002 Bickford Ave Snohomish,WA . Visitation at Bauer Funeral 701 1st Street Snohomish WA from 10-11:30 Saturday Nov. 6 ,2010. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made in Shirley's name for a Foster Care Scholorship .
*We will all miss her so very much. Thank you God for giving us such a beautiful gift.
