

Stella Eva Jarvis passed away on September 1, 2011. Stella was born on May 13, 1913 to John and Marie Perug. John was a truck driver and traveled exclusively. Stella graduated from Hoquiam High School in 1933 after attending 39 schools and 4 high schools. Stella married Willard Jarvis, who died in 1974.
Stella is survived by her daughter and son in law, Georgia and Michael Hatch of Snohomish, 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter who bears her name.
Stella worked at Hoquiam High School cafeteria as a cook for 28 years. Stella also worked at Moclips Packing Company and Johnson’s Mercantile in Copalis Beach.
Stella loved flowers and belonged to the Civic Garden Club, the Gray’s Harbor Rose Society, the Grays Harbor Dahlia Society, and the Grays Harbor Fuchsia Society and Designers. Stella was also a member of the Judges Council of Olympia as a flower show judge. Stella was honored by the late Phil Traff, who named a water lily dahlia, “Stella J”. Stella was known as a “Flower Lady” in the Crossing area. Her greatest delight was furnishing flowers for Copalis Community Church.
Stella resided in Copalis Crossing after marriage through 2009. She spent her last years in Lake Stevens, Washington, where she was close to family and able to enjoy many family gatherings.
Services will be held Friday, September 9, 2011 at 3pm at Sunset Memorial Park, Hoquiam, Wa.
