Susan was born on April 8th, 1965, in Spokane, Washington to the late Howard C. Stone and Patricia Ann Stone. She was one of five children and is survived by her siblings Marc Stone, Robert Stone, Carolyn Stone, and John Stone.
Susan made her home in Lake Stevens for twenty-seven years, where she built a warm and loving life with her husband, Paul Fenner. They shared twenty-six wonderful years of marriage, filled with laughter, partnership, and devotion.
A proud mother to Alex and Emily Fenner, and a caring stepmother to Stephan Fenner and Sarah (Kyle) Yeaman, Susan found immense joy in her family. Her grandchildren, Eva and Jetty, were the light of her life. She delighted in baking treats and crocheting handmade gifts for them, creating memories that will be treasured always.
In her younger years, Susan sang in her high school choir and competed in track and field, excelling in shot put. She later dedicated many years of service to the United States Postal Service in Everett, Washington, where her kindness, reliability, and strong work ethic were deeply appreciated by her coworkers and community alike.
Susan will be remembered for her intellectual strength, grace, and warmth. She had a gift for making others feel seen and cared for, and her spirit touched everyone who knew her.
A burial service celebrating Susan’s life will be held on October 11th, at 1:00 pm at Machias Community Cemetery.
