

Thelma G. Tuengel, 80, passed away on June 11, 2016 at her home in Snohomish, Washington with loved ones by her side. She was born to Paul and Jessie Skina on June 27, 1935 in Marysville, Washington. Thelma graduated from Snohomish High School and went on to become a licensed cosmetologist. She worked proudly as a beautician for over 40 years.
Thelma was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church of Snohomish and the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML). She also participated in the LWML Quilters and was a volunteer bus driver for Zion Lutheran School for many years.
Thelma enjoyed traveling nationally, and internationally. Sewing, quilting, and machine embroidering were favorite pastimes of hers. She took great pleasure in providing hospitality to friends and family.
Thelma married Jerry Tuengel on June 11, 1955. She was preceded by her husband, Jerry; and her parents, Paul and Jessie Skina in death. Thelma is survived by two sons, Brad Tuengel and his wife Lisa; Brent Tuengel and his wife Debbie; grandchildren, Marcus, Martin, and Marie; a sister, Mona Kendall and husband Mike of Onalaska, WA; and nieces, Teresa and Tami; and a nephew, Craig.
A viewing is scheduled for Friday, June 17, 2016 at Bauer Funeral Chapel from 1:00pm to 7:00pm. A Committal Service will take place at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Snohomish, WA at 10:00am on Saturday, June 18, 2016. A Memorial Service is scheduled at Zion Lutheran Church, Snohomish on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at 2:00pm.
Memorial donations may be made to Zion Lutheran School, 3923 103rd Ave SE, Lake Stevens, WA 98258. Thelma embraced her services to her community as an expression of her love to and for the Lord, Jesus.
