Katherine Essen

Kathy met the love of her life, Brad Essen, when she was just a teenager. They enjoyed almost 34 years together and raised three wonderful sons who meant the world to her. Kathy loved entertaining, especially for the holidays. She always decorated beautifully for each occasion. She enjoyed putting together the Christmas stockings and hiding the Easter eggs for her sons and then her grandchildren. Kathy was very artistic and had a natural talent for interior decorating. She was a wonderful cook and her cakes were especially creative. She loved taking care of her family.

Kathy was a loving and giving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She is survived and terribly missed by her husband Brad and her sons Derek (Amanda), Joshawa (Alicia) and Travis; her grandchildren Elle, Alexander, George, Tristan, Braxton and Ethan; her brothers Donald, Robert, Eugene, Thomas, Duane, John and Dennis Zunker and her sisters Shirley Bargender, Mary Martorano, Susan Johnson, Elaine Schroeder, Cynthia Clark, Peggy Gajewski and Bonnie Stout. She will also be missed by many other relatives and friends.

Kathy loved hot summer days spent outside so her family and friends will be hosting a celebration of her life on Wednesday August 28, 2013 at the Lucius Woods Pavilion. There will be a memorial service at noon followed by refreshments and a time to share our memories.
