Larry Paul Nelson

Larry was born August 12, 1947 in Shell Lake, WI to the late Paul & Dorothy (Rich) Nelson.

Larry married Yvonne (Butzen) Nelson Dec. 28, 1972 in Shell Lake, WI. She preceded him in death Nov. 5, 2007.

Larry served his country honorably in the United States Army from Jan. 1967 – Dec. 1968, earning the Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, and Marksman (Rifle) Medal.

He owned and operated Nelsons TV Repair Shop for many years. Larry was an avid outdoorsman enjoying atving, fishing, and deer hunting.

Among those who survive and gratefully shared his life are his two sons: Monte (Kris) Rinnman of Webster, WI; Michael (Ann) Rinnman of Bloomington, MN; 5 grandchildren; 1 brother: David Nelson of Ashland, WI; 2 nieces: Lisa (Tim) Wehmhoefer & Jackie (Adam) Volz both of Minong, WI.

He is preceded in death by 1 daughter: Mandi Nelson 1995; 1 sister: Evelyn Dins 1992.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 19, 2011 at the Brown Funeral Home in Minong, WI. Pastor Ben Kidder will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Minong, WI. Military rites will be accorded by the American Legion of Minong, WI.

Pallbearers: Tim, Keith, Rick Wehmhoefer, Jay Barrett, Adam Volz, Jim Smith.

Honorary pallbearers: Robbie Volz & Dilan Wehmhoefer, Ryan Volz, Dawson Wallace.
