

Marvin Michael Johnson, of Minong, age 62, passed away January 20, 2014, after a short battle with cancer. He was born June 24, 1951 to Marvin and Joan Johnson. He is survived by his only child Rebecka (Chris) Lopez, Granddaughters Kaytlynn and Breanna Foix all of Cottage Grove, MN; parents Marvin and Joan Johnson; brothers Wesley and Richard of Minong; sister Dawn (Michael) Hastings of Prior Lake, MN; Nephews Kevin Hastings, Gavin and Lathaniel Williams, Maustyn Johnson; Nieces Elizabeth Hastings, Rachel Johnson (Zach Williams); Angela Johnson. He was preceded in death by his Grandparents Irvin and Hilda Johnson and John and Margaret Landsversk, Uncles Robert and Llyod Johnson, Allen Vig, Aunts Mildred Breeze, Ruth Johnson.
He proudly served for 13 years in the United States Army and was a lifetime member of the Gordon American Legion. He loved his family, he preferred to take road trips over flying so to see nature’s beauty. He enjoyed hunting. He was an avid historian.
Memorial Services are for March 1, 2014 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Minong, Wisconsin Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., followed by the service at 11 a.m. A luncheon will be served after the memorial service. Internment will be held in the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, Wisconsin at a later date.
