

Mary Lou was born at home on March 11, 1938, to parents Victor and Edith (Visger) Corbin. She attended the Thompson and Engine Hill Grade School where she not only attended, but also helped cook. She also attended Webster High School prior to her marriage to Russell Fischer on December 8, 1954 in Superior. After their marriage, the couple lived near Pattison Park, until in 1972, the couple moved back to Dairyland when they purchased Ruth and Bill’s Bar from Russell’s parents. In 1995, the couple sold the bar and retired to their current home on County T where she loved to spend time with her grandkids. Mary Lou cooked at various places throughout her life and carried her passion for cooking home, where she loved to bake pies and make jelly from berries that she enjoyed picking herself.
Mary Lou is survived by her children: Joanne Anderson and Dwayne Fischer, both of Dairyland, WI, Penny (Scott) Holmstrom of Danbury, WI, Lauretta Fischer, Denise (Chad) Glenna, and Nora (Richard) Kern all of Milltown, WI, 7 grandchildren: Carrie, Jake, Bryan, Dylan, Megan, Chase, Preston, great grandson Brandon, brothers and sisters: Shirley Rassmussen of Superior, WI, Norma (Clyde) Fuller of Superior, WI, Doug (Sharon) Corbin of Dairyland, WI, Harvey (Jean) Corbin, Linda (Jack) Thompson all of Summit, WI, and many other family and friends including Arlene (Jack) Ely.
Mary Lou is preceded in death by her parents, husband Russell, Infant son Victor, sister Helen Nelson, and son-in-law Ricky Anderson.
Funeral services for Mary Lou Fischer will be held on Monday, June 3, 2013, at 11 am, at the Brown Funeral Home in Solon Springs with Pastor Mary Boyarski officiating. Music will be provided by Dan Proffit. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2013, from 3-6pm, at the Brown Funeral Home in Solon Springs, and also on Monday from 10-11 am at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Riverhill Cemetery in Dairyland.
