

Adelia “Della” (Cerio) Dragano, 95, formerly of Solvay, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2016 at Good Samaritan Village in Fort Collins, CO. She was born in Chieti, Italy to the late Michele and Gemma (Ciammaichella) Cerio on August 12, 1920. She immigrated to the United States with her mother in 1922 and they joined her father in Solvay. She spent virtually all of her remaining life in Solvay or Syracuse, moving to Colorado in 2015. Della was a loving daughter, sister, mother and mother-in-law. Family was the most important thing in her life and she was also a caring friend to many. She attended school in Solvay and worked at several companies, including Iroquois China. Della married Thomas Dragano of Syracuse in 1947. She bore her son, Thomas, in 1949, and her daughter, Doreen, in 1957. She was a communicant at St. Cecilia’s Church for much of her life and spent many years late in life volunteering at the Food Pantry there.
She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas in 1998 and daughter Doreen Falter in 1997. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Clare DeMore, Thelma Pienkowski, Flora Perolla and Olga Masucci and brother, Michael Cerio.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law; Thomas and Karen Dragano, of Fort Collins, CO, son-in-law; Bill Falter, sister; Erma Mastropool, sister-in-law; Roslyn Cerio and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 9:00 am Monday, July 18, 2016 at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME. The Rite of Committal will follow in Onondaga County Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse. Family and friends may call Sunday, July 17, 2016 from 1 to 4 pm at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Avenue.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to St. Cecilia’s Food Pantry, 105 Stanton Ave, Solvay, NY 13209.
