

Alan Silvio Todeschini, 66, of Fairmount, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at home. Alan was born in Solvay to the late Livio and Hilda Todeschini in 1948 and was a graduate of Solvay High School. He was employed by Niagara Mohawk/National Grid for 38 years, 25 years as an electrical designer and 13 years as a 911 dispatcher, before retiring in 2007. He was the UEA president for Niagara Mohawk and member of union 1484. Following retirement, he worked security for the Carrier Dome, Oncenter, NY State Fair and Turning Stone, and served as caregiver to his father for 3 years. He was a member of the Camillus JC’s, he coached Camillus Girls Optimist Softball, where he was past Coach of the Year, and served as Commissioner of Men’s Over 50 Softball. Al enjoyed playing softball, volleyball and basketball until he became ill. He was a longtime member of the Tyrol Club of Solvay and its former bar manager. He enjoyed traveling with friends, cross country skiing, bowling and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, the former Karen Gisewhite, 2 daughters; Jennifer (John) Kelly, of Charleston, SC and Allison (Shane) Lightenfield, of Solvay, son; Brian Todeschini, of Syracuse, 3 grandchildren; Collin Kelly, Dylan Lightenfield and Brandon Kelly, brother; Lloyd (Monica) Todeschini, of Fairmount, 2 sisters; Lynn (John) Przydrozny, of Marcellus and Janice Sell, of Solvay, 2 aunts, 2 uncles and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 9:15 am Tuesday, January 6, 2015 in BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME and 10 am at Holy Family Church, Fairmount, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Private entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Warners.
Family and friends may call Monday, January 5, 2015 from 4 to 7 pm at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Avenue.
