Andrea Yi-Ya DiFlorio-Rotella

Andrea “Yi-Ya” DiFlorio-Rotella, 56, of Westvale, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2016 with her loving family by her bedside. Andrea's gift to the world was that of kindness, compassion, and devotion. She was born with a giving heart and a nurturing soul. Andrea adored being with her family. She looked forward to Sunday dinners, poolside cookouts, and holidays. Christmas was her favorite holiday of the year. The Spirit of the Season embodied "Yi's" persona. She found such joy in volunteering for the Salvation Army's Christmas Bureau and getting gifts for children from the Giving Tree at church. Andrea enjoyed tuning out to Disco music and attending Jimmy Buffett concerts. Andrea is predeceased by her father Ralph DiFlorio, Sr. and her nephew, Aiden DiFlorio.

Andrea is survived by her husband, Edward Rotella, mother, Phyllis, brother, Ralph (Karin), sisters, Valerie,(Paula), Cynthia, her cherished niece, Madison, "pseudo sister" Stephanie (Haleigh and Nick) Hayduk. Two step children, Ed and Jared Rotella and a grandson Dante Rotella. Andrea also leaves behind a large extended family which she adored including her aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-laws.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 am Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at St. Cecilia Church, 1001 Woods Rd., Solvay. Private burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 pm Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Ave.

The DiFlorio and Rotella families would like to acknowledge the staff at St. Joe's Hospital MCICU D-3 West Unit and HOA Onondaga for the superior care they provided to Andrea.

In lieu of flowers, Andrea would like donations made to St. Cecilia's Food Pantry, 105 Stanton Ave., Solvay, NY 13209.
