

Arthur Dantuono, 96, of Lakeland, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Upstate University Hospital at Community General. He was born in Lyons to the late Anthony and AnnaMarie (Riccardi) Dantuono in 1920. He was raised in Solvay and graduated from Solvay High School before enlisting with the US Army’s Merchant Marine, serving during World War II. Arthur was employed by Crucible Steel Corporation for over 30 years before retiring as a Recorder in 1981. He was an avid bowler, member of the American Legion, Pioneer Horseshoe Club, United Steelworkers 1277, and past member of the Moose Club 625. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, the former Dorothy Kaleta, son; John (Rhonda) Dantuono, of Lakeland, 3 grandchildren; Katharine Parker, Sarah (Jed) Dantuono-Brown and Joseph Dantuono, 2 great-granddaughters; Adrianna and Alexa Parker, brother; Dannie Dantuono, of Camillus and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 8:45 am Friday, May 20, 2016 at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME and 9:30 am at St. Cecilia Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The Rite of committal and burial will follow in Onondaga County Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse.
