

Arthur H. Schweitzer, Jr., 81, of Syracuse, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Iroquois Nursing Home. He was born in Syracuse to the late Arthur and Katherine (Kies) Schweitzer. He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was employed by Allied Chemical for many years, retiring in 1986. He later worked at Centro as a bus operator from 1987 to 2005 before retiring. His memberships included the American Legion Post 1361, VFW, The Adelphi Club and The Eagles in Florida. He was predeceased by his wife, Thelma in 1995, second wife, Jean in 2012 and sister, Marilyn Fantuzzi in 2010.
He is survived by a daughter, Laurie (Rick) Freeman, of Syracuse, son, Arthur H. Schweitzer III, of Lakeland, 2 sisters, Joanne (Robert) Blake, of Onondaga Hill and Marie (Jonathan) Simons, of FL, brother-in-law, Thomas Fantuzzi and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9 am Monday, September 29, 2014 at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, Solvay. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse. Family and friends may call Sunday, September 28, 2014 from 2 to 4 pm at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Avenue.
