Ethel (Harris) Demperio, 77, of Camillus, passed away Wednesday at Community General Hospital. Born in Cheektowaga, she lived in Syracuse most of her life. She was a bus driver at West Genesee High School for over 25 years before retiring in 1996. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Camillus Seniors. She looked forward to playing bingo, bowling and travelling to the casino to play the slots or keno. Mrs. Demperio also enjoyed summering at the family camp on Oneida Lake. She was predeceased by her husband Raymond in 2004.
She is survived by a daughter; Nancy LaPan, of Fairmount, 2 sons; David (Karen), of Baldwinsville and Raymond (Mary), of Onondaga Hill, 9 grandchildren; Jody (Josh), Maria (Russ), Nicole, Jessica, RJ, Nathon, Natalie, Emily and Julianna, 3 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters; Charlotte Tooley and Airea Mosher, many nieces, nephews and her beloved dog, “Bubba”.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1 pm in BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME. Burial will be in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Calling hours are from 2 to 5 pm Sunday at the funeral home, 2601 Milton Ave., Solvay.
