Filomena Kapelewski, 92, of Syracuse, passed away Tuesday June 7th at St. Lucie Hospice House in Port St. Lucie, FL. Born in Solvay to Michael and Libera Albino, she was employed by Pass & Seymour for several years. She was a communicant of St. Cecilia Church, where she was a member of its Alter and Rosary Society and bereavement guild. She was also a member of the Women’s Golf League at Pine Grove and a women’s group with high school friends for 70 years. Filomena was predeceased by her husband Bernard in 2010.
She is survived by 2 daughters; Bernice (James) Palla, of FL and Phyllis Kapelewski, of NY, 3 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, 2 sisters; Rose Eason and Carmella DeStaffan, a brother; Anthony Albino, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8:15 am Monday June 13th at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME and 9 am at St. Cecilia Church, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Burial will be in the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse. Calling hours are from 1 to 4 pm Sunday June 12th at the funeral home, 2601 Milton Ave.
