Guido J. Balduzzi, 94, of Syracuse, passed away Monday at St. Camillus Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Solvay to Placido and Erminia (Maestri) Balduzzi. Guido was a US Army Veteran of WW II, serving in the China, India and Burma campaigns. He owned and operated Baldy’s Place and Archies Bar and Grill for over 40 years before retiring in 1982. He was a life member and past commander of the Stanley B. Pennock VFW Post 2893 and Onondaga County VFW’s, past commander of the China-Burma-India Veteran’s Association of CNY, American Legion Post 41, Solvay-Geddes Veterans, Solvay Tigers AC, Solvay Tyrol Club and the Moose Club. He was predeceased by his wife Florence in 2007 and brother Harry in 1977.
He is survived by a daughter; Karen (David) Fish, of Marcellus, 3 sons; Ronald (Kathryn), of Baldwinsville, James (Karen), of Taunton and Mark (Joanne), of Westvale, a sister; Margaret Sauda, of Solvay, a sister-in-law; Louise Balduzzi, of Solvay, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 9:15 am Friday in BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME and 10 am in St. Ann’s Church, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Burial will be in the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse. Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 pm Thursday at the funeral home, 2601 Milton Ave.
