Jane A. (Palange) Ponti

Jane A. (Palange) Ponti, age 91, of Temple Terrace, FL, formerly of Syracuse, NY, entered into rest Saturday, June 4, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert & Jennie (Baratta) Palange; and her sister, Marie A. Boland. A graduate of Solvay High School, class of 1943, her early years were spent sharing happy times with family, friends and the annual camping trip to Fairhaven State Park (hear her say “YUCK”!!). In 1946 her marriage led to a new chapter; starting her family, moving to Binghamton, NY where life became kids, bowling, attending plays, musicals, opera, concerts and NYC. The last 30-plus years, Jane spent her life with her daughter, Deborah Ann, sharing a wild and crazy journey, most of which was witnessed on Facebook. The “Mom Star” was born. In the end it became watching her beloved teams; the NY Yankees, Giants, Rangers and Syracuse Orange. Now she is Heaven’s newest Guardian Angel…our 4 ft, 6 in Redheaded Dynamo.

Jane is survived by her four children, William (Jacki) Ponti, Deborah Ponti, David Ponti and Kathleen Raymer; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Marc) Barnes, Matthew (Jessica) Ponti, Anthony and Sara Raymer; and three great-grandchildren, Hannah Woods, Drew and Evan Barnes. She is also survived by her sister, Frances Vecchio and family, Susan Vecchio, JoAnn (Doug) Detor and Mary (Wayne) Stone; special friends, Robert Newman, Darlene, Gil and Charlene Lugo, and her “adopted daughter/hairdresser” Leona Crockett; and many loving family and friends.

The family would also like to extend special thanks to the medical staff and caregivers from Palm Garden Tampa and Sun City Center and to Dr. Himanshu Patel and Dr. Dean Flores, DPT. Visitation and a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in Florida.
