

John M. Zingaro, 88, of Solvay, passed away Sunday at Francis House. He was born in Solvay to the late Luigi and Theresa (Spicciati) Zingaro in 1927. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II. For 25 years, he was a business machine repairman for Remington Rand followed by over 30 years as a salesman for Central Industrial Packaging Supply before retiring. John was a lifelong communicant of St. Cecilia’s Church, member of the Stanley B. Pennock VFW Post 2893, Tuscarora Golf Club, Assumption Society, member and past president of Solvay-Geddes Veteran’s and St. Cecilia’s Holy Name Society, and charter member of the St. Cecilia’s Holy Name Golf League. He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Wanda (Alexander) in 2009.
He is survived by 2 sons; Robert (Patricia), of Solvay and Jack (Dawn), of Jordan, his daughter; Mary Ann (Thomas) Giannone, of Solvay, 6 grandchildren; Matt, Johnny, Steve, Lisa, Jenni and Tracy, 7 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers; Nick, of Solvay and Louis (Monica), of Lakeland, 2 sisters; Lucy Malvasi, of Syracuse and Rose (Manuel) Fedrizzi, of Jordan, sister-in-law; Anne Zingaro, of N. Syracuse, brother-in-law; Joseph Ranieri, of Geddes, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 8:45 am Thursday in BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME and 9:30 am at St. Cecilia’s Church, Solvay, where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 pm Wednesday at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Avenue.
