Josephine (Iannicello) Marascalchi

Josephine (Iannicello) Marascalchi, 92, of Syracuse, passed away Monday, March 9, 2015 at Crouse Hospital. She was born in Solvay to the late Donato and Antoinette (Spagnoletti) Iannicello in 1922. She worked at Frazer and Jones, General Electric, graduated from Bouxart School of Cosmetology and was a licensed cosmetologist. She was a member of the Sedality of Mary at St. Cecilia’s Church, the Molinare Society, Holy Family Altar and Rosary Society, Holy Family Seniors, Camillus Seniors, Solvay Tyrol Club Auxiliary and a communicant of Holy Family Church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, gardening, and mostly cooking and taking care of her family. Josephine was predeceased by her husband Joseph “Slim” Marascalchi in 1991, sisters; Mary Rose and M. Carmella, brothers; Anthony, Nicholas and Louis.

Surviving are 2 daughters; Diane (Joseph) Noffey, of Liverpool and Carole Anne Marascalchi, of Westvale, 2 sons; Joseph (Michele), of Onondaga Hill and Daniel (Kathleen), of Ohio, 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, a sister; Mary Haley, of San Diego, CA, 2 brothers; Daniel (Agnes) Iannicello, of Baldwinsville and Mario Iannicello, of Pittsburgh, PA, sister-in-law; Dorothy Marascalchi, of N. Syracuse, brothers-in-law; William Marascalchi and Dominic Barnello, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 9:15 am Friday, March 13, 2015 in BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME and 10:00 am at Holy Family Church, Fairmount, where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum, DeWitt.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 pm Thursday, March 12, 2015 at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Avenue.
