Katharina (Simon) Lawton, 90, of Solvay, passed away Saturday at Upstate University Hospital. Born in Nordhalben, Germany to the late Heinrich and Sophie (Steindl) Simon in 1926, she later met and married Warren Lawton and immigrated to the US. She was a technician at Community General Hospital for 30 years before retiring and was a communicant of St. Cecilia Church.
Katharina is survived by nephews, Ralph and Harold Gray, nieces, Irene McCarthy and Denise Coats, and many other nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 am Wednesday at St. Cecilia Church, 1001 Woods Rd, Solvay. Burial will be private.
