Mary (Ponti) Salvagno

Mary (Ponti) Salvagno, 89, of Solvay, passed away Saturday, March 26th at Upstate University Hospital at Community General. She was born in Solvay to the late Enrico and Luigia Ponti in 1926. She was employed at Pass and Seymour for 10 years before leaving to start a family. She and her late husband, Americo, then built a home which was the center of many family gatherings. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Cecilia Church. Mary was predeceased by her husband Americo in 1992, brothers; Harry, Primo and Marco Ponti and son-in-law, James Carroll.

She is survived by her daughter; Patricia Carroll, 2 sons; Anthony (Joanne) and Robert (Diane) Salvagno, 5 grandchildren; Michael (Vanessa), Matthew, Michelle, Tyler and Andrew Salvagno, sister; Marge Mallaro, 2 sisters-in-law; Rose Salvagno and Helen Ponti, and her many generations of nieces, nephews and extended family of which she truly adored.

Funeral services will be held 8:45 am Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME and 9:30 am at St. Cecilia Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The Rite of committal and burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 pm Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Ave.
