

Nicholas A. "Cuz" Petrocci, Jr., 77, of Solvay and Naples, FL, passed away Friday October 17, 2014 due to injuries suffered in an automobile accident. He was born in Syracuse to the late Nicholas A. and Mary (Capella) Petrocci and was a 1955 graduate of Solvay High School. Nick was a foreman at the Hinsdale Road-Gas Department of Niagara Mohawk for over 30 years before retiring in 1994. He was an avid sportsman, loved playing cards, working on his flowers and gardening. He also enjoyed traveling to Florida and loved old cars. Above all, he loved his grandchildren, was a firm believer in generosity and that “you gotta do the right thing”. For many years, he dressed as Santa for his grandchildren and others in the community.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, the former Rita Dumas, 2 daughters, Pam (Jim) Cifaratta, of Solvay and Annette (Jerry) Cregan, of Lakeland, his son, Jeff (Sue) Petrocci, of Westvale, step-son, Clark (Susan) Cutri, of Solvay, his 7 grandchildren, Alexander and David Petrocci, Sarah and Peter Cifaratta, Jeremiah, Matthew and Erin Cregan, his brother, Richard (Mary) Petrocci, of Waldorf, MD, family member, Seth Randall, many nieces and nephews and his beloved dog and best friend, Charlie.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am Thursday, October 23, 2014 at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, and 10:00 am at Holy Family Church, where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse. Family and friends may call Wednesday, October 22, 2014 from 4 to 8 pm at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Avenue.
