

Philip M. Battaglia, 78, of Camillus, passed away Sunday at Crouse Hospital. He was born in Amsterdam, NY to the late Anthony and Mary (Sanfillipo) Battaglia in 1937. He was owner/operator of Phil’s Carpet Service for 16 years. He later worked at Tile and Carpet Town in contract floor sales for 31 years before retiring in 2015. Phil was a member and past president of Oneida Lake Region A.A.C.A. He restored many antique cars, including his prized 57 Lincoln. He served with the Army National Guard for 7 years and was a communicant of Holy Family Church. Philip was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather and was looking forward to the arrival of his first great granddaughter in October. He was predeceased by his sister, Rosalyn Callen and brother, Martin Battaglia.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, the former Jane Powell, 3 daughters; Barbara (Nicholas) Crisafi, of Warners, Jane (Tim) Miles, of Warners and Pam (Shawn) Mitchell, of Camillus, 2 sons; Philip (Jeannie) Battaglia, of Brewerton and Tony (Terri) Battaglia, of Syracuse, 8 grandchildren; Nicholas (Jill), Steven (Cylinda), Christopher, Thomas, Joey, Jamie, Cameron and Gabby, 3 sisters; Mary Ann (Merle) Dence, Pat (Patrick) Szabo and Chris Grinter, 2 brothers; Dick (Sharyn) Battaglia and Pete (Liz) Battaglia and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 10:00 am Friday at Holy Family Church, Fairmount. There will be a memorial luncheon in his honor for friends and family after the service.
