Steven C Herbert

Steven Herbert, 82, of Lakeland, passed away peacefully Sunday at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in West Monroe to Louis and Mary Herbert. Steven was a printing supervisor at Syracuse University for 32 years before retiring in 1991. He had a passion for dancing and loved to golf. Steven was a member of the Moose Club, a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church, where he was a Eucharistic Minister, taught Confirmation for many years and was a member of its Holy Name Society and Lazarus Committee. He was a beloved, loving, gentle husband, known throughout Lakeland for being a gentle soul. Steven was predeceased by his parents, a sister, Margaret Connors and brothers, William, Francis, Louis T., Charles, Joseph, Victor, Henry, John P. and Donald Herbert.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, the former Yolanda Salvagno, 5 daughters; Stefanie (Scott) Bell, of VA, Renee (Patrick) McFalls, of Pennellville, Michele (John) Marzocchi, of Clay, Janine (Glenn) Baumgras, of Rochester and Andrea (Doug) Gerhardt, of Rochester, 10 grandchildren; Shannon and Steve Bell, Shane and Kelsey McFalls, JP and Matthew Marzocchi, Halee and Hanna Baumgras and Tyler and Benjamin Gerhardt, 4 sisters; Betty (Edward) Zaluski, of N. Syr., Anne Banville, of Syracuse, Wilma (Donald) Cleveland, of TX and Mary (Louis) Gass, of W. Monroe, 3 brothers; George Herbert, of Camden, Mike (Louise) Herbert, of W. Monroe, and Arnold (Beverly) Herbert, of Parish, NY, in-laws; Marion Miller, of Lakeland and Carol (Dominick) Reppi, of Liverpool and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted at 8:45 am Wednesday in BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME and 9:30 am in Our Lady Of Peace Church where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lakeland. Calling hours are from 4 to 7 pm Tuesday at the funeral home 2601 Milton Ave., Solvay.
