

Thelma (Cerio) Pienkowski, 86, of Solvay, passed away Tuesday January 28, 2014 at St. Camillus Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Syracuse to the late Michael and Gemma (Ciammaichella) Cerio. She worked in the Solvay High School cafeteria for over 15 years before retiring in 1992. Additionally, Thelma also worked at Iroquois China, Pass & Seymour, Camillus Cutlery and Wendy’s. Thelma was a member of the Moose Club and communicant of St. Cecilia Church and past member of its Altar and Rosary Society. She was a loving and devoted grandmother and great grandmother who selflessly cared for everyone. She was predeceased by her husband Frank in 1971, a sister, Clara DeMore and a brother, Michael Cerio.
Thelma’s family would like to give a special thanks to the C-Unit at St. Camillus for all their special care.
She is survived by her 2 daughters; Linda (Dan) Scaia, of Skaneateles and Donna (Jim) O’Connell, of Las Vegas, NV, her son; Ron (Diana) Pienkowski, of Onondaga Hill; 5 grandchildren; Lori, Danielle, Kyle, Zachary and Shannon; 6 great-grandchildren; Joshua, Jordyn, Jillian, Malin, Evan, and Cooper; 4 sisters; Della Dragano, Olga Masucci, Flora Perolla and Erma Mastropool, a sister-in-law; Roslyn Cerio, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday February 3, 2014 at 9:45 am in BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, and 10:30 am in St. Cecilia Church, where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse.
Calling hours are Sunday February 2, 2014 from 12 noon to 3 pm at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Ave.
