Albert O. Langlais Sr.
September 16, 1928 – November 28, 2018
Albert O. “Pepere” Langlais, Sr., age 90, passed away Wednesday, November, 28 2018 in Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Jeanne “Memere” (Longchamps) Langlais, to whom he was married for 66 years before she passed away on October 10, 2018.
Born in Fall River, a son of the late George and Roseanna (Fortin) Langlais, he was a longtime resident of Somerset; and in retirement, wintered in Lakeland, FL.
A graduate of the former Msgr. Prevost High School in Fall River, Class of 1947, he went on to join the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a Project Manager at Pickwick International for twenty years. He also worked at both Fall River and New Bedford County Clubs.
Mr. Langlais was a member of the Amvets Post #60 in Fall River, an avid bowler and enjoyed collecting baseball cards.
Survivors include: three daughters, Susan J. Willen, and her husband John “Tom” of Somerset, Janine M. Plante and her husband Joseph of Swansea and Denise A. Medeiros and her husband Stephen of Assonet; three sons, Albert O. Langlais, Jr. and his girlfriend Sue Thompson of Parkville, MD, Paul E. Langlais and his wife Christine of Simpsonville, SC and Robert A. Langlais of Somerset; two sisters, Anne Isabelle Brodeur and Jeannette Longchamps; thirteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Sister Mary Martin, R.J.M. “Fuzzy” Langlais, Arthur Langlais, Romeo Langlais and Yvonne Leblanc.
His Funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 9:00 AM from the Rose E. Sullivan Funeral Home, 866 County St., Somerset, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Thomas More Church, 386 Luther Ave., Somerset. A private burial will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
Visiting hours are Tuesday from 4:00 – 7:00 PM.
