Ann C. (Doherty) La Rosee, age 91, of Somerset, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2019 at her residence. She was the wife of the late John A. La Rosee who recently passed away in May. Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Bernard A. and Mary E. (Murphy) Doherty, she had been a longtime resident of Somerset.

Mrs. LaRosee was a graduate of the former Dominican Academy and was a member of their Alumni Association. She also attended Bridgewater State University and was the former President of the Gama Chapter Sigma Phi Sorority. As a career military spouse, she had the opportunity to live throughout the United States as well as overseas in both Libya and Germany. In addition to being a homemaker, she enjoyed sewing, gardening and cooking.

She is survived by three sons, John “Jay” La Rosee and his wife Barbara of Plymouth, Stephen La Rosee and his wife Marsha of Williamsburg, VA and James La Rosee and his wife Nan of Winston-Salem, NC; thirteen grandchildren, Heather, Jennifer, Joshua, Addie, Emily, Kathryn, Candice, Cammi, Carey, Matthew, Andrew, Christopher and Eric: eight great-grandchildren, Jason Robert, John, Mickyla, Bianca, Georgia, Benjamin, Sofie, and Owen, four additional daughters-in-law, Pamela and Lisa La Rosee, Maureen Rollins, and Faith Lane and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Donald La Rosee, mother-in-law of the late Dustin Renee Elliott, great-grandmother of the late Zachary La Rosee and the sister of the late Marie Lizak.

Her Funeral Mass will be held on March 8, 2019 at 10 AM in St. Patrick’s Church, 306 South St., Somerset. Relatives and friends invited. Contributions in her honor may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Burial will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery at Bourne.
