

David C. Lundquist, age 82, of Somerset, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at Clifton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. He was the lifelong partner of Sara Lundquist with whom they celebrated 34 years of marriage.
Born in Palmer, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Ernest and Lillian (Ritchie) Lundquist. He was a graduate of Palmer High School and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Norwich University.
Upon graduation from Norwich University as a Captain in the U.S. Military, he went on to serve in the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1970. As a civilian, he was employed by New England Power Company from 1971 to 1998.
As an avid outdoorsman, he found great joy in hiking with his greatest accomplishment being the Appalachian Trail. In addition to hiking, he enjoyed white water canoeing in the mountains of New Hampshire. David also volunteered in many community organizations including: local food pantries, the Hospice Outreach Program and Junior Achievement. He was a member of the First Christian Congregational Church.
He is survived by two sons, David C. Lundquist Jr. and his wife Kimberly of Somerset, MA and Mark E. Lundquist and his wife Katie of Colorado Springs, Colorado, thirteen grandchildren: Jessica, Tayler, Kyle, Megan, Emily, Hannah, Jacob, Sarah, Bryan, Ethan, Christopher, Sean and Audrey and one great grandchild. His grandchildren were the light of his life as he never missed a dance recital, sports game or a chance to share his love for the outdoors.
