Francis Mac A. Macomber

Francis A. “Mac” Macomber, age 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, January 27, 2012 in Somerset. He was the husband of Marie A. (Deschenes) Macomber to whom he had been married for 55 years.

Born in Fall River, the son of Roseanna Macomber, “Mac” was the owner and President of LeComte’s Dairy in Somerset. He was a member of the Board of Directors at the former Slades Ferry Bank, Past President of the Fall River Jaycee’s, member of the Somerset/Swansea Kiwanis Club, New England Milk Dealers Association, Partner in Cloverdale Farms and a member of the Fall River Lodge of Elks.

In addition to his wife he is survived by three sons, Alan F. Macomber and his wife Kim of Westport, MA, Jeffrey F. Macomber and his wife Donna of Warren, RI and Barry F. O’Connell and his wife Sharon of Hawaii; seven grandchildren Jeremy O’Connell, Courtney, Lionelha, Erin, Mackenzie, Lulu and Avery Macomber and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Macomber was also the brother of the late Helen Amoruso.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 9am from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT ROSE E. SULLIVAN 866 County St., Somerset, followed by his funeral mass at 10am in St. Thomas More Church 386 Luther Ave., Somerset. Visiting hours Tuesday from 5 to 8pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in his honor may be made to the Boys & Girls Club of Fall River 803 Bedford., St., Fall River 02720 or to the Children’s Museum of Greater Fall River PO Box 9704, Fall River, MA 02720.
