She was born in California, PA, the daughter of the late Jonas and Mildred (Harris) Coatsworth and received her Bachelors Degree from Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia, PA. Upon graduation, she worked for Nannette’s Fashion Design as a baby clothes designer.
Mrs. Mullen was a member of the Women’s Club and Church of the Ascension Couples Club in Fall River. An avid golfer, Mrs. Mullen was longtime member of the Fall River Country Club, where she was a twelve time Club Champion and had five holes in one. She enjoyed knitting, reading and made most of her childrens clothing when they were younger and helped support her husbands business, Mullen Bros. Jewelers in Swansea for over 50 years.
She is survived by four children, Robert T. Mullen Jr., of Somerset, Debra L. Mullen of Brockton, Susan M. Bayliss of Midlothian, VA and Jacqueline E. Mullen of Pari, Italy; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, four nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Mullen was the mother of the late Richard C. Mullen and sister of the late Eugene Coatsworth.
Her Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 6pm in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Rose E. Sullivan, 866 County St., Somerset. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7pm. Burial will be private.
