Leonard J. O'Neil

Born in Fall River, the son of the late Leonard and Helen F. (Boyle) O’Neil, he was a 1961 graduate of Joseph Case High School in Swansea.

Leonard was employed for many years as a Time Study Engineer with Speidel-Textron. He served in the United States Army Reserves during the Vietnam era and was a past president of the former Somerset Swansea Tennis Association. An avid Celtics fan, Leonard coached youth basketball and baseball in Fall River and Somerset.

Surviving in addition to his wife Ginny, are three sons, Leonard O’Neil and his wife Rosario of Milford, MA, Sean O’Neil and his wife Kathleen of Williston, VT and Patrick O’Neil of Somerset; eight grandchildren Brandon, Jonathan, Patrick, Gabriela, Ian, Colin, Keagan and Bridget; two sisters Agnes Peckham and Marylou Giannakoulis; a brother Joseph O’Neil and several nieces and nephews.

His Funeral will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025 at 11:00AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Rose E. Sullivan, 866 County St., Somerset. Visiting hours will be from 9:00 to 11:00AM prior to his service. Burial will take place in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Fall River.
