

Patricia (DeVido) Recupero, age 75, of N. Kingstown, RI and formerly of Somerset, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at Kent County Hospital in Warwick. She was the wife of John Recupero to whom she had been married for 9 years.
Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Blanche (Gajoli) DeVido.
A graduate of Somerset High School, Patricia obtained a bachelor’s degree in English from Bridgewater State University. She worked as a reading and resource teacher at South School in Somerset for 10 years prior to her retirement.
Patricia enjoyed traveling, especially to Europe. She loved flowers and the wildlife she encountered while tending to her garden. A naturally likeable person, Patricia was known to cultivate friendships quite easily.
Besides her husband, Patricia is survived by her son, Michael Barlow of Somerset; two sisters, Diane Langellier and her husband Leo of Exeter, RI and Joanne McCarthy of Somerset; three stepchildren, Julie Sykes of Coventry, RI, Brian Recupero and his wife Megan of N. Kingstown, RI and Thomas Recupero and his wife Deanna of Hawaii; six grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. She was the sister of the late Michael DeVido and former wife of the late Alfred Barlow.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at 9:00 AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Rose E. Sullivan, 866 County St., Somerset, followed by a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Louis de France Church, 56 Buffinton St., Swansea. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Somerset. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Patricia’s honor may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Ave., Boston, MA 02215.
