Rita E. Brady

February 24, 1922March 19, 2018

Rita E. (DeFusco) Brady, age 96, of Somerset, passed away, Monday, March 19, 2018 in Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Cornelius J. Brady.

Born in Putnam, CT, a daughter of the late Filomeno and Rita (Lancelotta) De Fusco, she had been a lifelong area resident.

A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, Class of 1939, she was a member of the honor society. She was an Accountant at the Saint Vincent’s Home in Fall River for many years, retiring in 1987. She also worked at Zayre Department Store for several years.

She was kind hearted and quick to help anyone in need. She enjoyed traveling, cooking and a good laugh. She looked forward to spending her free time with her siblings. Everyone who knew her loved her. She will be missed.

She is survived by one son, David J. Brady of Somerset; one daughter, Janice M. Brady of Portsmouth and several nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Eva Cardin, Marion Correia, Anita Puccio, John L. DeFusco, Sr., Adam DeFusco and Violet Wilding and mother-in-law of the late Brian Carlos.

Her Funeral will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 8:00AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Rose E. Sullivan, 866 County Street, Somerset, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00AM in Holy Rosary Church, 120 Beattie St., Fall River. Visiting hours Friday from 4:00 to 7:00PM. Contributions in her honor may be made to Bristol Elder Services Inc., 1 Father Devalles Blvd., #8, Fall River, MA 02723. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
