
Arlie Dale Green, 86, of Coal City, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2015 at Princeton Community Hospital. He was born July 28, 1929 to the late John Pierson and Ida Mae Lester Green. He graduated from Herndon High School and then volunteered for the Navy. Dale served his country faithfully during the Korean War and received an honorable discharge. He was married to the late Frances Angel December 27, 1952. Dale enjoyed many interests and accomplishments in his lifetime. He spent many hours researching and collecting information on the genealogy of the Green, Lester and Lane families. He volunteered at the VA hospital where he enjoyed the company of his fellow veterans. He was a member of, and willing worker for, his church Cornerstone Freewill Baptist Church in Crab Orchard, W.Va. Many hours were spent visiting his siblings to help with anything needed. He retired from Motor Car Supply in Beckley. Dale is survived by sons; Larry (Billie Jean), Michael (Becki), and Kevin (Tracy); grandchildren, James, Joseph, Krista, Jennifer, Logan, Shae and Jacob; great grand children Caleb, Teigan and Kohen. He is also survived by six siblings, Lola Steele, Archie “Charlie” Green (Barbara), Larry Green (Bonnie), Carrie Hylton (Don), Betty Stigall, and Kathy Scott. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss him dearly. Dale was preceded in death by his loving wife Frances, infant daughter Sharon, one brother and four sisters. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cornerstone Freewill Baptist Church. The family wishes to offer special thanks to sister-in-law, Barbara Green, caregivers, Fiona Bennett, Billie Billings and Delores Lowe, the Perdue family also the staff of Princeton Community Hospital and Serenity Place, and his friends at the Beckley Veterans Administration Hospital, in particular the Adult Day Care Center. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Cornerstone Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Roger Tolliver officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
