Lonnie Lawrence Lilly

Rev. Lonnie L. Lilly, our Dad and Grandpa went to be with the Lord on June 3th, 2015 at Bowers Hospice House with his loved one’s there at his side. Born on October 29, 1921, he is the son of the late Douglas Lilly and Maude Lunford Lilly of Coal City. Mr. Lilly served his country in the United States Air Force in World War II. He was also a retired coal miner and loved preaching the Word of God. Those who went before him was his first wife, Alice Elizabeth (Bolen) Lilly and Loriane Parker Lilly; grandson, Joshua Lions; all his brothers and sisters. Those he left to love and cherish him and all his memories include his two sons, Larry L. Lilly and wife, Agnes, Ricky D. Lilly and ex-wife’s, Martha and Joyce, Beverly J. Cree, Mary E. Wood and husband, Everette, and his baby Victoria L. Bostic. He had 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. His daughters would like to thank Melissa Lilly Hensley for taking care of our dad and a special thank you to everyone at the Hospice House and to everyone who knew and loved him. Services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, June, 2015 at Williams Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Sophia with Rev. Charlie Bolen officiating. Burial will follow at Dancy Cemetery. Friends may gather with the family Sunday from 6 – 8 PM at the funeral home.
