Ruth Elizabeth Acord Ruth Elizabeth Acord 84 of Maryland formerly of MacArthur pasted away on Friday April 3, 2015. Born September 10, 1930 in Raleigh County, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Rosabell Ball Richards. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ira L. Acord, 2 sons Bo and John Acord, and 9 brothers and sisters. Those left to cherish her memory include her son Nick Acord and his wife Alice, her brother Hobert Richards, 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and beloved friends. Services will be held at 11:00am Thursday April 9, 2015 at Williams Blue Ridge Funeral Home, with the Rev. William O. Tolliver officiating. Burial will follow in the Lilly Crews cemetery on Sand Knob. Friends may gather with the family from 6pm until 9pm Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
