Annette J. Bernardo

Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Adelard and Athais (Dumont) Bernier she was a lifelong area resident and a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, Dartmouth.

Mrs. Bernardo graduated from Holy Family School and later worked as a laboratory technician at Cornell-Dublier. She enjoyed doing volunteer work at St. James/St. John’s and at St. Luke’s Hospital. Annette also volunteered her time to clean the linens and purificators at St. Mary’s Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Pedro of Dartmouth and Paula Tavano and her husband Roland of Westport; four grandchildren Dr. Marielle Pedro, DMD, Marissa Tavano, Mariah Tavano, and Dominic Tavano; great grandchildren, Jayden, Maddex, Beckham, Leighton, and Myles. She was the mother of the late Robert Bernardo and sister of the late Anita Robinson, Lillian Yates, Doris Ponte, Ida Miranda, and Don Bernier.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 789 Dartmouth St., Dartmouth, MA 02748. Burial will be private. For online tribute: www.waring-sullivan.com.
