

Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Martin J. and Zedder (Rose) McGrath she was a lifelong area resident and a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, Dartmouth.
Mrs. Almeida spent most of her life as a homemaker raising her children and then went to work at Mars Bargainland. In her spare time, she enjoyed and was very talented at knitting and crocheting. The family did lots of camping together, then after retirement, she and her husband would travel in their fifth wheel to various fairs and campgrounds.
She is survived by her children, Karen Morrisseau and her husband Stephen of Acushnet, Ann-Marie Shurtleff and her husband John of Dartmouth, and Richard W. Almeida and his wife Pamela of Dartmouth; six grandchildren, Matthew Morrisseau, Nicole Adams, Meaghan Shurtleff, Kelsey Shurtleff, Braden Almeida, and Colton Almeida; three great grandchildren, Stephen Morrisseau, Gabriella Morrisseau, and Jackson Adams.
She was the sister of the late Eleanor Cooper and Lorraine Lake.
Her funeral will be Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at 9 a.m. from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 795 Dartmouth St., Dartmouth.
