It is with the most profound sadness that we share the sudden, unexpected loss of Dr. Edward A. Klein at his beloved home on January 2, 2025. Ed passed doing what he loved to do, enjoying a morning race with friends on his Peloton. He was the devoted husband of Beth (Stowell) Rocha with whom he shared 15 beautiful years of marriage, traveling often and enjoying the most wonderful life together.
Born in Long Island, NY, he was the son of the late Gerald Klein and Irene (Moskowitz) Klein of NY.
Dr. Klein received his medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic medicine and was a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon at Hawthorn Medical for the last 22 years, specializing in hip and knee replacements. Dr. Klein will be remembered by his patients for his kind, genuine, and reassuring nature. He always made time to listen and truly had the patience of a saint.
He was the loving and dedicated father to Julia Klein and Lindsey Klein, and an amazing stepfather to Jacob Rocha and Benjamin Rocha. To his friends, extended family and even strangers, he was the most selfless, kind hearted, humble and easy going person you could ever meet. He found joy in making sure everyone around him was happy and had what they needed. You could always see a smile on his face when he was surrounded by friends and family in his backyard, cooking out and enjoying the pool. It was at those times that Ed felt his hard work and dedication had paid off. That is a testament to one of his favorite sayings… “Life is Good”.
In addition to his wife and children, Ed leaves behind a brother, Roy Klein of New Bedford, a brother in law, William Stowell and his wife Victoria of New Bedford, a brother in law and his best friend, Steven Stowell and his wife Yvonne Dodge whom he opened up his home to and found such pleasure living together as a family. Ed also leaves behind a nephew, William Stowell and countless friends, too numerous to mention. To know Ed was to love him. His passing is a tremendous loss to his family, friends, patients and the entire medical community. May his beautiful soul rest in peace and continue to be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
To honor and respect Ed’s wishes, and in true Ed Klein fashion…all services will be private. We apologize and encourage you to honor Ed in whichever way you see fit, as we acknowledge that his passing had a detrimental effect on our entire community.
