Eleanor (Sylvia) Bonas, 78, of Dartmouth, passed away on Monday, July 4, 2011 at the Sacred Heart Home surrounded by her loving husband, children and grandchildren. She was the wife of Louis Bonas with whom she shared 56 years of marriage.
Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Frank and Nazareth (Marques) Sylvia, she was a lifelong resident of Dartmouth, a graduate of Dartmouth High School and a communicant of St. Mary’s Church.
Mrs. Bonas worked as a purchasing agent for Morse Twist Drill in New Bedford for over 40 years until her retirement.
She enjoyed browsing yard sales and spending time with her loving family.
Surviving in addition to her husband is a daughter, Jane Shea and her husband Justin of Lakeville; a son, Robert Bonas of Dartmouth; grandchildren, Krystal and Andrew Cabral and Ashley Bonas; great-grandchildren, Kaylin Cabral and R.J. Bonas; a brother, Frank Sylvia, Jr. of New Bedford; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Edwin, Arthur and Dolores Sylvia and Philomena Perry.
Her Funeral will be held on Friday, July 8, 2011 at 9am from the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth followed by a Funeral Mass at 10am in St. Mary’s Church, 783 Dartmouth St., Dartmouth.
