

Born in New Bedford, Elizabeth was the cherished daughter of the late John and Dorothy (Wilcox) Tyson. She spent most of her life in Dartmouth, where she built a home rooted in faith, family, and service to others.
A proud graduate of New Bedford High School, Class of 1964, Elizabeth went on to pursue her calling in nursing at Salve Regina University, where she received her nursing education. She devoted many years of her professional life as a nurse in Public Health, serving her community with skill, gentleness, and unwavering compassion. For Elizabeth, nursing was not simply a career, but a vocation — an expression of her generous spirit and deep care for others.
Elizabeth was the beloved wife of Edward John Magiera, sharing a marriage grounded in love, faith, and steadfast devotion. Together they built a life rich in family and friendship.
Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. A devoted and active member of Saint Mary's Church, Elizabeth gave generously of her time and heart. She taught CCD, guiding young people in their spiritual journeys and sharing her deep love of her faith. Her quiet strength, kindness, and dedication left a lasting impression on her parish community.
She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Woodis and Rylee and husband Carl Anklam of FL; three stepsisters Lynda Tyler of NY, Carol Costa-Crowell of IL, Rita Augustine of FL; daughter in law Diane Magiera of Chicopee; seven grandchildren, Alexzander Raimondo, Cosette L. Bonneau, Hilary Hottenstein, Ashley Magiera, Christopher Chickapee, Anthony Woodis and Aiden Woodis; a few great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was the late stepdaughter of Russell Costa.
Elizabeth will be remembered for her warmth, her steady presence, and the gentle grace with which she cared for those around her. She lived a life defined by service — to her family, her patients, her church, and her community. Her legacy is one of compassion, faith, and enduring love.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her service dog, Mia, beloved family, best friends, Carol and John Devlin, and all who were blessed to know her.
