He worked as a Longshoreman in the fishing port of New Bedford, and was also employed at Chamberlain Manufacturing Corp in New Bedford, MA. producing Artillery Shells for the US Military until its closure in the 1990’s.
Fred was always one to crack a joke give a tease and a smile especially with his family and close friends. He loved to have fun. Family, Church, and Country were of the utmost importance to him. He truly loved his family and loved being surrounded by them at his home. Some of his most joyous times were also the simplest, just sitting and playing in the yard by the pool with his Children, Grand Children and Great Grand Children of which he has many. Fred was a big fan of sports specifically the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. One of his best experiences was being at the classic Patriots vs Raiders Snow Bowl Game. There were many a time he could be found dozing off listening to a ball game on the radio. Although he was a New Englander now, his Midwestern heart sometimes shone through. He was a closeted Royals fan and his favorite ball player was George Brett, saying “he was the hardest working guy in Baseball”.
