

Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Elmer and Sarah Delia (Prudhomme) Pimental, she was a lifelong resident of the city.
Mrs. Paiva had worked as a manager at the former Me & Ed’s Restaurant in the south end of New Bedford for over 30 years. She also worked at Expo’s convenience store for several years.
Janice was a proud south end resident of New Bedford. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, camping at Horseneck and especially loved being at the beach. She loved the comforts of her home and caring for her children who meant the world to her. Janice was the most selfless, caring and thoughtful person who put everyone’s needs before herself and she will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
She is survived by her children, John Paiva and daughter-in-law Crystal of New Bedford and Lynn Paiva and son-in-law Fred of Colorado; her granddaughter, Brooke Taylor Paiva; her special nephew, John Thompson and his wife Kathy; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Irene Moniz, Donald and Elmer Tanguay.
Private services are in the care of Waring-Sullivan Home at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth.
