Jeffrey David Garcia of New Bedford, age 32, lost his 18 month courageous battle with brain cancer at home with his family on June 6, 2011. He is survived by his wife Rachael (Matthews), father John L. and Wife Donna Garcia of Daytona Beach, FL and his mother Lynne M. Garcia of Dartmouth. Jeffrey was a fun loving child whom everyone loved.
He was a charmer and everyone who met him wanted to take him home. As he grew he was on many DYAA championship baseball teams and was assistant coach for his dad on his younger brother’s pony league championship basketball team. His two passions were his 1987 Camaro IROC-Z and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and playing with his dog Bella. He graduated from DHS in 1996. He then started his career as a self taught mechanic. He worked at Center Street Garage and then moved on to Safeguard Transmissions where he quickly became one of their all time best mechanics. He is also survived by brothers Michael S. and his wife Patricia A. Garcia of Westport and Timothy J. Garcia of Dartmouth; his in-laws Douglas and Dianne Matthews of Tiverton, RI, and a niece Alyssa Garcia of Ormond Beach, FL. He will be loved and missed by all and his spirit will always be with us.
His Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at 11am in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT DARTMOUTH 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 4-8pm. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport. For directions or to send a tribute visit: www.waring-sullivan.com
