Mr. Patys was born in New Bedford and lived in Westport. He was the owner of General Supply and Metals Inc. in New Bedford for over 30 years.
John loved life and cars and was an exercise enthusiast. He was a friend and mentor to many.
His family includes his wife, Doreen, two children, Allison Lin and Katherine Louise. He is also survived by a sister Sherry Patys of Kentucky.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Sunday, July 27, 2014 from 1-3pm followed by a Celebration of Life at 3pm in the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth.
