Joseph Medeiros

Born in New Bedford, a son of the late John L. and Alexandrina (Felix) Medeiros he was a lifelong New Bedford resident.

Mr. Medeiros graduated from New Bedford Vocational High School and later served in the United States Navy. Joe worked as a machinist at Edson Marine in the northend of New Bedford.

Joe was an avid hunter. He loved to spend time in the woods, fishing, being outdoors, and antiquing.

In addition to his wife, Joe leaves behind his children, Joycelyn Langevin of New Bedford, Vanessa Duckworth and her husband Michael of Kingston, RI, and Kevin Fernandes of New Bedford; two grandchildren, Kylee Fernandes and Korbin Fernandes; a brother, James Medeiros; a sister Mary Amaral Soares of New Bedford; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Marcelino Amaral and John Medeiros.

His visitation will be Tuesday, June 27, 2023 5-8 p.m. in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Road, Dartmouth, MA 02748 with a service at 7:15 p.m. Burial will be private. For online tribute/directions: www.waring-sullivan.com.
