Joshua J. Greaves

Born in New Bedford son of Heidi (Perry) Greaves of New Bedford and Bruce A. Greaves of Marysville, Ohio, Joshua resided in Fairhaven for the past year, New Bedford for most of his life. He was a graduate of Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School and attended BCC. Following BCC he observed fish for AIS.

For over 3 years, Joshua has worked as a Fisherman on the Seawatcher and the Lori Ann, both out of New Bedford. He also worked as a Machinist for Sapphire, Five Star and Johnson & Johnson. He also spent time working as a Landscaper.

He was active with his family in raising money for ALS, he enjoyed cooking and was known for eating ketchup on everything. An avid gardener, he had a green thumb and he enjoyed recreational fishing. Joshua played the guitar and was a member of the band, Procure for over 5 years. His laugh was infectious and he will be known for being a gentle soul.

Surviving in addition to his parents is a brother, Nicholas R. Greaves and his girlfriend Amanda Mello and her children Kaeden and Lotus of New Bedford; his grandmothers, Patricia C. Perry of New Bedford and JoAnn Greaves of Dartmouth; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was the grandson of the late Daniel Perry and Dr. Alan Greaves.

His Funeral Service will be held Tuesday April 29, 2014 at 10am in the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Road, Dartmouth. Visiting hours Monday 4 to 7pm. Memorial contributions to be used at the family’s discretion to Jacqueline Tome, 42 Gellette Rd., Fairhaven, MA 02719. Burial will be private.
