Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Amedee and Aurore (Masse) Hamel. She lived most of her life in this area. After retirement, she and her husband moved to Wildwood, FL.
Lil worked as a winder for Titleist for over 30 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting, playing cards, bingo, board games, puzzles, and golfing.
She is survived by two daughters, Janice Pittman and her husband Richard of Chesapeake, VA and Paula Leonard and her husband Michael of Attleboro; a son, Robert Desjardins and his wife Candie of Dartmouth; a sister, Doris Hargraves of FL; grandchildren, Jennifer James and her husband Kavin, Tara Hile and her husband Randy, Didi Goodnough and her husband Henry, and Adam Desjardins; great grandchildren, Jaimee, Hallie, Ender, Harrison, and Barrett. Lil was one of 13 children.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, June 10, 2019 10 a.m. at St. Julie Billiart Parish, 494 Slocum Rd., Dartmouth.
