Michael L. Dumont, 55, of Dartmouth, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 12, 2024 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Margaret (Silva) Dumont, with whom he shared 24 years of marriage.
Born in New Bedford, he was the loving son of Marcel L. and Maria Natalia (Carvalho) Dumont.
Michael was a graduate of Dartmouth High School and was owner /operator of MLD Interiors. He was a Firefighter for 15 years, and a member of the Rod & Gun Club of New Bedford for over 30 years. Michael married the love of his life and time with his family was very important. He was an avid Bruins fan, enjoyed NASCAR racing and was a firearms competitive shooter. He loved his two cats, Kensi and Cabo. Michael always put others first, had a heart of gold, and everyone just loved him. He was the best husband, son, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed.
In addition to his loving wife and parents, he is survived by his brother, Marc Dumont and his wife Renee of Dartmouth; his best friend, Mark Foisy of 40 years of New Bedford, and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held on Monday, May 20, 2024 at 9:00am from WARING-SULLIVAN HOME AT DARTMOUTH, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Julie Billiart Church, 494 Slocum Rd., Dartmouth. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2024 from 2:00pm – 5:00pm in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME AT DARTMOUTH, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth, MA 02748. Burial is Private.
